The fundamental goal of almost all artwork is to be unique and impactive, and to be emotionally moving in some specific way. As a conceptual experiment, I decided to do just the opposite of what most artists would do: to make my piece as generic and universal as possible.
The subject is not a historical figure or a towering mountain or a beautiful woman; it is merely the word 'subject'. The foreground is not a thrilling race track or a quaint village, the background is not a gorgeous sunset or a baron wasteland, the surrounding frame is not the woodwork or precious metalwork of a legendary craftsman; they are merely their respective words. The download size is 1000x1000 pixels. Program: Mostly MS Paint, but I used the 30 day trial download of Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 for color transitions and softening the shadows. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
