Thinking what you will say
When you will tell your parents you're gay

But the actual feeling when you tell,
Even if it might feel slightly like hell.
You know that you are now free,
And you know it will get better,

There's this girl I know who lives next door

Maybe seventeen if not eighteen years old

And everyday I see her pray for change

Staring out her window with nothing new to say

She's perfect some suggest in every way

Beautiful looks, kind heart, excellent grades

But everyday she still prays for change

Because every night is always the same

She sits on her bed and plays guitar

While her parents for hours lecture her

She took a job after school to help pass days

But even that can't alleviate inborn pain

But what she was mad at, I couldn't tell

Often from my window I'd see her yell

Yet this perfect prom queen rule

Artistic SolipsismThe world has ended. Maybe it was an alien invasion, an astronomical catastrophe, the ever-popular zombie apocalypse, or some ironic twist involving irresponsible science and man's own hubris. It doesn't really matter. An Essay on Republican Capitalist Philosophy

I wrote this essay because Herman Cain's 9-9-9 plan is the most ill-conceived and potentially counterproductive economical plan I have heard in recent history. Perfection is hardly boring-otherwise it isn't perfection.

I have yet to see a single depiction of "perfection"

for something so easy to draw you would expect there would be more of it.

Perhaps I should have clarified what I had in mind in the description. It's easier to portray perfectly smooth skin, than to show the rich texture of someone who's lived a long and storied life. It's easier to draw a spotless new car, than to show one that's been ravaged by a white-knuckle car chase. The imperfections that make images interesting, also make them harder to draw.

I thought you were expressing frustration at people who drew "perfect" people- I know a great many are upset with this, as well as the depiction of "perfect people" in writing, it's a bit of a trend now, but I consider the artistic representation of people of any shape or size to be significantly different than the "photoshop issue"-which some do confuse.

Again, I apologize, but it's a bit of a sore spot with me. I think it's an artist's job to show how any size/age/race/gender/etc has it's own perfection-to communicate that beauty is everywhere and to give the public eyes to see and a mind to appreciate. To hear/see people complain about how only perfection/beauty is represented bothers me, because it denies the simple fact that perfection and beauty are as common as dirt but as precious as diamonds.
